In Windows XP,

a. Click Start, click Run, type cmd , and then click OK.

b. At the command prompt, type ipconfig /flushdns , and then press ENTER. This command flushes all the DNS entries that have been cached.

c. Try to sign in to Windows Live Messenger.

In Windows Vista and in Windows 7,

a. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, and then right-click Command Prompt.

b. Click Run as administrator.

c. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.

d. At the command prompt, type ipconfig /flushdns , and then press ENTER. This command flushes all the DNS entries that have been cached.

e. Try to sign in to Windows Live Messenger
