أيها الحب الغالي، جدد قواك، حتى لا يقال
إن قوتك الروحية أضعف من رغبتك الحسية،
التي ما زالت حتى اليوم راضية بما يُشْبِعُها،
لكنها ستعود غدا إلى حدتها السابقة.

لتكن أنت أيضاً كذلك، أيها الحب، فمع أنك اليوم
تشبع عينيك الجائعتين حتى تغمضان ممتلئتين،
أُنظرْ إلى الغد مرة أخرى،
ولا تقتلْ روح الحب بالاغفال المتواصل.

دَعْ هذه الحقبة المؤسفة التي تشبه المحيط
عندما يشق الأرض التي يقف عليها حبيبان تعاهدا مؤخرا
إنهما يجيئان كل يوم إلى الضفاف،
لعل روعة المشهد تزداد عندما يشاهدان الحب العائد

كأنها الشتاء، كلما زادت برودته القارسة
إزداد شوقنا لمجيء الصيف أضعافا مضاعفة.
