Mobile app market accelerating (Investor's Business Daily)

Investor's Business Daily - The market for smart phone applications is on pace to more than double, as it already has topped $2.2 bil in the first half of 2010 vs. $1.7 bil for all of 2009, according to a German research firm. The number of app downloads was 3.9 bil in the first half vs. 3.1 bil for all of 2009. The firm previously projected the worldwide app market would reach $15 bil by 2013. Apple (NMS:AAPL), whose online store offers more than 200,000 apps, slipped 0.1% to 249.64.
